Key Benefits
- Easily create your own multi-user databases without advanced technical expertise or jump-start your design using predefined templates.
- Incorporate data from multiple sources for analysis in one single environment.
- Save time populating your database by using built-in forms and by scheduling batch imports to occur automatically.
- Query your data by ‘drawing’ your question – avoiding the need to learn a complex database query language, designing powerful, complex queries easily.
- Streamline data collection, populating iBase through tailored worksheets or by using other i2 applications
- Manage all your data and benefit from a scalable database solution to handle ever-increasing volumes of data
- Work individually or as part of a team to build and use standalone or shared databases.
- Set up comprehensive security at the field, record or case level to restrict access by user or user group.
- Use auditing functions to further ensure the integrity of your data.
Key Functionality
iBase integrates powerful analytical functionality:
Query – ‘draw’ the question you wish to ask - simple or complex - by dragging and dropping relevant icons and links. Then save, organize and share your queries with colleagues to promote best practices.
Find Path – visually establish the shortest path between two data elements even if the relationship involves several degrees of separation. This information can be vital to your case and is not readily available via traditional database queries or reports.
Explore – reveal all relationships between a selected Analyst’s Notebook chart item and other entities in your database. This allows you to add relevant data to your analysis without constructing a query.
Search Tools – quickly find exact matches, synonyms or words that sound similar to those in your search criteria. This can be especially useful when searching for names with spelling variations. iBase Standard also provides full text search of documents embedded in your database.
Score Matching – save time searching your database when only a few details are known. Pick lists and weighted scoring identify the data most relevant to your investigation.
Duplicate Records Checker – maintain the quality of your database by quickly searching a set, a query result or your entire database for duplicate information.
Reporting – easily create reports that can be printed, posted to a Web page or sent to Microsoft® Word, facilitating communication within your organization.
Mapping – optional add-on enables location-based analysis of crime and intelligence information by interfacing with popular mapping software such as MapInfo®, ArcView™ and Microsoft® MapPoint®.
