Overview
Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnerships (CDRP) and Neighbourhood Policing are initiatives aimed at improving the quality of life within local communities by helping to identify and reduce the crime and disorder issues of most concern to people living in these communities.
To be successful, both these initiatives require the effective exchange of information, so that priority neighbourhood issues can be identified; problem-oriented, partnership-driven solutions can be developed; and the results communicated back to the local community.
The i2 Neighbourhood Policing and CDRP Solution has been developed in order to facilitate this exchange, incorporating geographic and socio-demographic information, data layering capabilities and functionality to let users scan data to identify patterns and trends.
The i2 solution allows scanning of data to identify emerging trends and hotspots, so that a proactive, problem solving, intelligence-led approach to local issues can be adopted. Appropriate information can then be fed back to the community and partner agencies, helping them work with Neighbourhood Policing teams to develop local solutions to local problems.
Key Benefits
Our solution provides:
- A repository for community intelligence and crime and incident data, along with other information held by the police and partner agencies,
- A tool for scanning crime and incident data in the context of local demographic information, helping users to identify information that can then be analysed further,
- A mechanism for monitoring performance,
- Reporting capabilities to help with tasking and resource deployment,
- A tool for ensuring that members of the Neighbourhood Policing team are kept informed of the latest situation,
- The ability to control who has access to what data and what level of detail they see, and
- The ability to create dynamic, living Neighbourhood Profiles.
Functionality
- Generate overviews of individual or multiple neighbourhoods, in order to view performance statistics, spot emerging trends, identify signal crimes and disorders, and quickly create reports.
- Access detailed neighbourhood information with a click of a mouse button, enabling evidence-based resource deployment.
- Brief members of Neighbourhood Policing Teams on the current situation in any neighbourhood rapidly and efficiently, allowing them to spend more time on the streets, visibly patrolling their communities.
- Use the powerful data layering capabilities to view crime and incident clusters in the context of geographical and socio-demographic data by, for example viewing truancy and exclusion statistics for local schools alongside drug related and arson incidents.
